On your way from Calgary to Waterton Lakes National Park, you will acquaint yourself with Alberta’s Wild West and the rolling hills and admire the Canadian Rocky Mountains Eastern Slopes.

Waterton Lakes National Park is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and sister park to US Glacier National Park. This is the smallest and one of the most diverse national parks in Canada. On this jam-packed full-day tour, you’ll see it all.

Tour Itinerary

You'll get picked up from your accommodation location in Calgary at 6.30am.

1. The Waterton Lake Boat Tour is a boat ride on the gorgeous Upper Waterton Lake and takes you from Waterton Township all the way to Goat Haunt in Montana known as  "The Gateway To The Northern Wilderness of Glacier National Park". The scenery is breathtaking the entire way.

2.The Red Rock Parkway is a 15 km scenic road within Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, Canada, that leads to Red Rock Canyon. It winds through the Blakiston Valley, offering views of rolling grasslands and the transition of prairie to mountain landscapes.

3. Inspired by British tradition, Afternoon Tea features a selection of quality teas and a variety of delectable sandwich squares and pastries. Tea is served in the Royal Steward Dining Room which overlooks Waterton Lake for some of the most spectacular views around.

4. The Akamina Parkway is a 15.2 km (9.4 mile) scenic drive in Waterton Lakes National Park that starts from Cameron Falls and follows the creek up to Cameron Lake. It's known for its beautiful mountain views. Along the way, you'll find stops like the First Oil Well in Western Canada National Historic Site. Portion of Montana is visible from the southern end of Cameron Lake while Mount Custer is prominently visible from the Canadian side. The lake's southern shore is where three borders – Alberta, British Columbia, and Montana – converge.

5. Small herd of plains bison is maintained in a paddock within Waterton Lakes National Park. The bison are kept within a fenced enclosure and the paddock is located near the Pincher Creek entrance,and visitors can view them from a loop road.

6. Driving back to Calgary a south-north highway #22 along known as a "Cowboy Trail". It's a scenic ride that follows the Eastern Slopes of the Canadian Rockies and passes through ranching country. The trail is known for its stunning landscapes, open rangelands, and views of the mountains.
